My winning cover design for Miami Ad School's Inaugural Book Builder Scholarship. The ask was to create a New Yorker cover with the theme of June 2020.
My cover design was inspired by the July 1991 New Yorker cover by Bob Knox, which was in turn inspired by Georges Seurat's iconic painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. I wanted to reference both images but update them for our current COVID-19 reality. The entire drawing is made up of short strokes to mimimc the pointillist style of both references.
